Shamanism is a philosophy of life and an ancestral healing practice present in various cultures around the world, especially in indigenous traditions. It is not a religion, but a path of wisdom that reconnects us with Nature, with our essence, and with the spiritual world. Its goal is to restore harmony between body, mind, and spirit, using sacred tools to promote self-knowledge and balance.
No, shamanism is not a religion and does not require you to follow specific dogmas or beliefs . It is a spiritual path that welcomes people of all faiths, or even those with no faith at all. The only requirement is an open heart and the intention to heal and know oneself. Many feel that shamanic practices actually deepen and strengthen their own spiritual journey, whatever it may be.
These are plants and natural preparations used in rituals to promote self-knowledge and spiritual connection. They are considered sacred tools that help us access expanded states of consciousness and work through deep emotional issues.
They are not merely physical remedies , but allies that act on spiritual, emotional, and energetic levels. Each "medicine" has its specific properties and teachings, and they are used with deep respect and intentionality , under the guidance of an experienced guide.
Examples of Forest Medicines:
• Ayahuasca: a tea made from vines and leaves from the Amazon, known for inducing visions and profound reflections.
• Jurema: a plant from northeastern Brazil, used in rituals by various indigenous traditions for healing and spiritual connection.
• Rapé: a powder made from a mixture of tobacco and ground herbs, blown into the nostrils for cleansing and focus.
• Sananga: natural eye drops that promote purification and visual and energetic clarity.
Ayahuasca is a sacred beverage, also known as "the tea of the soul." It is prepared from the union of two Amazonian plants: the Mariri vine and the Chacrona leaves. Used for over 4,000 years by the Incas and in indigenous rituals, it acts as a great teacher, expanding our consciousness and allowing us to access deeper dimensions of ourselves. The experience can bring clarity, release traumas, and awaken a profound spiritual connection.
At the Shamanic Clinic, our approach to Ayahuasca ceremonies is carefully designed to be welcoming, intimate, and focused on you . Unlike many places with large groups, our priority is depth, personalized support, and individual care . Therefore, we always work with small groups , allowing us to offer more attentive support tailored to your needs.
See how your journey with us unfolds:
Before the Ceremony: Preparation and Alignment
Our work begins 1 week before the in-person meeting. During this period:
• You will receive guidance and support via WhatsApp so that you arrive at the ceremony aligned, aware, and prepared to experience it in the best way possible.
• Important recommendations will be given regarding food and behaviors to avoid for your safety and well-being.
• Depending on your needs and intentions, I can suggest shamanic practices and/or preparation techniques. These practices are optional and are already included in the ceremony fee.
This preparation stage is crucial for aligning body, mind, and spirit , helping to reduce discomfort such as nausea or more challenging moments during the ceremony.
During the Ceremony: Personalized Welcome and Support
The ceremony itself is conducted in an atmosphere of great presence and affection:
• We begin with a welcoming session , a group discussion where medicine is introduced and all questions are answered, especially for those participating for the first time.
• During the ceremony, you will have complete freedom to experience it in the most comfortable way: lying down, sitting, or standing, and you can drink water or go to the bathroom whenever you need to.
• I will be attentive and available throughout the journey to offer you personalized support , helping you work through what truly needs to be addressed within you at that moment. Each dose of Ayahuasca is carefully adjusted according to your weight, age, and needs, aiming for a safer, lighter, and more harmonious experience.
• Even though it's a group ceremony, the Ayahuasca experience is profoundly individual. It's a true journey inward , where each person lives their own process. There are no side conversations with other participants, nor the use of cell phones during the ceremony.
• Finally, we shared a snack and gathered in a circle for conversation, listening and sharing, where anyone who wished could talk about their experience or ask questions.
Remember: The power of a ceremony lies not in the quantity of Ayahuasca ingested, but in the quality of the preparation, the delivery, and the support throughout the entire process.
After the Ceremony: Integration and Deepening
To assist in integrating your experience:
• The following week, you will have the opportunity to schedule a one-on-one online appointment (30 minutes) .
• This time is dedicated to deepening the understanding of your experience and clarifying specific issues in your process, ensuring that the lessons learned are integrated into your life.
Everything is done so that you feel safe and supported at every step of your journey of self-discovery and transformation.
Each experience with Ayahuasca is profoundly unique , and believe me, it is never repeated. However, some common effects include heightened senses (sight, hearing, smell, touch, and intensified perceptions of hot or cold), clarity of thought , and a deep connection with oneself .
Ayahuasca contains DMT , a substance that our bodies also produce, allowing us to access expanded states of consciousness. During the ceremony, it is common to have "mirações" (spiritual visions and insights from our subconscious), as well as deep reflections on one's life.
Sometimes nausea and vomiting may occur. These processes are often interpreted as a cleansing or purification of the body and soul, but they can also simply be a natural physical reaction of the body. It is important to know that, due to our monitoring and preparation that begins a week before the ceremony, we greatly reduce the chances of you experiencing intense discomfort or malaise.

Safety is paramount. The ceremony is not recommended for individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia , bipolar disorder , or personality disorder , as the experience may worsen these conditions. Furthermore, the use of certain psychiatric medications (primarily those in the SSRI class) is contraindicated. Therefore, we conduct a detailed anamnesis (preliminary consultation) to ensure the experience is safe for you.
Yes.
People with HIV can participate normally.
People undergoing cancer treatment can also donate, but it's crucial that they inform us about their condition so we can offer more attentive and careful monitoring. In all cases, transparency about their health status is essential.
We recommend that anyone with a medical condition or undergoing treatment consult their healthcare professional to assess any potential restrictions. However, we know that many professionals still have limited knowledge about traditional medicines. Therefore, it is essential that you also seek knowledge and be prepared to assist them in this assessment.
Preparation is a crucial step in your experience. Beyond the support, guidance, and diet you'll receive, your intention is fundamental. Ask yourself:
• What am I hoping to achieve with this experience?
• What do I wish to change, transform, release, heal, or understand?
Going with an open heart and a clear purpose immensely enhances the healing power of medicine.
